Harmonia Rover

What: Developed a mission plan for the simulated launch of a rover to Mars in Mission 2 of the NASA Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) Program.

How: Collaborated with 9 students across the nation through online meetings to formulate detailed launch plan. Executed my responsibilities as a mechanical engineer by performing comprehensive research on mechanical systems, and effectively implementing them into our rover design for optimal functionality. Over the course of the week-long program, we integrated communications, mechanical, power, and computer systems into our design while staying within payload and budget constraints.

Why: This Mars rover mission plan aligns with NASA’s current objective to research and test technologies essential for traveling to and living on Mars. The project contributes to the development of innovative solutions that will enable humans to inhabit Mars in the future.

Results: Pitched rover launch plan to NASA engineers and received constructive feedback. Qualified to on-site Mission 3 of NCAS program.
