CAD-Eng
What: Collaborated with 3 teammates at the 2024 UC Berkeley AI Hackathon to develop text-to-CAD technology that converts user descriptions into 3D printable CAD files.
How: Leveraged KittyCAD API and Streamlit to develop fully functional product in 36 hours. I was responsible for developing the frontend, and printing AI-generated shapes with Creality Slicer software and an Ender 3 Printer for demonstration during pitch decks.
Why: CAD software is very complex, with hundreds of tools that pose a steep learning curve. This is a major obstacle for individuals looking to bring their ideas to life without prior design experience. CAD-Eng enables users to quickly and easily create designs, and empowers creativity.
Results: This was my first hackathon and my first time using Visual Studio Code and GitHub. There was a lot to absorb in a short period, but it was a valuable learning experience. It has inspired me to learn more about web development and participate in more hackathons in the future.
